This site is all about community, and all about campus food. We, the co-founders, are four years out of college, and counting. But everyone contributing to Small Kitchen College is either still an undergrad, or remembers what it was like to eat during that time of life like it was yesterday, because it was.

As a contributing writer, you’ll get a chance to explore a subject that relates to the cooking and eating lives of yourself and those around you. You’ll have your voice heard on our site, which reaches thousands of readers each week. And you’ll get a chance to learn how to promote your writing online so it reaches the greatest possible audience—college students, their parents, and current readers.

We accept new contributing writers every term, and guest writers on a pitch-by-pitch basis.

If you would like to apply to be a Small Kitchen College contributing writer, we will be accepting applications for the upcoming sessions by the following dates:

Summer Session, applications due 5/1/2011
Fall Semester, applications due 7/1/2011

Spring Semester, applications due 12/31/2011
Fall Semester 2012, applications due 8/1/2012

To begin the application process, please complete the Contributing Writer Application here and submit your resume, sample post, and photo sample to bgsk [at] biggirlssmallkitchen.com [dot] com with the subject line “Your Name_Contributing Writer Application Supplement.”

If you would like to pitch an article, recipe, or story as a guest contributor, or inquire about general application protocol, send your idea to the bgsk [at] biggirlssmallkitchen [dot] com with subject “SKC Article Pitch.”

If you are interested in becoming a college ambassador or intern, please email bgsk [at] biggirlssmallkitchen [dot] com with the subject “SKC Ambassador.”

We look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you as a Small Kitchen College undergrad!
