No matter how many times you hit the snooze button, there’s no escaping it: you’re gonna have to start waking up before 11 a.m. If you’re not a senior or an athlete, you probably haven’t scored the ultimate schedule, where your first class doesn’t start til afternoon. So you’re gonna need your energy before that brutal 9 a.m. class. But bagels and schmear can get old after awhile. Spice up your morning routine without having to wake up any earlier with these quick or make-ahead recipes.

If you live in a house with a bunch of roommates, breakfast bread pudding is a great way to start the day-family style. Not only do you get to devour a savory and satisfying casserole, you get to use up old bread.

In ten minutes, you can whip up this scrambled egg dish. Red tomatoes, green jalapeños and white onion represent the Mexican flag, and add a little spiciness to your day.

With the anti-processed food movement, making pancakes from a box seems like a sin-but making them from scratch isn’t that hard. Throw together a batch of pancake mix at the beginning of the week and you’ll wonder why you ever thought Bisquick was the only one who could make pancakes.

Refrigerator oatmeal isn’t like traditional oatmeal. For one, it’s cold. Then it has yogurt and chia seeds. It’s the perfect grab-and-go breakfast for those mornings you oversleep. Flavor the oatmeal with fruits, syrups and nuts, and store in the refrigerator for up to two days.

You’ll toss the Lucky Charms and the Cheerios after you taste this Peanut Butter Honey Granola. It’s sweet, salty, crunchy, and with a dollop of yogurt, creamy. It’s so addicting, I’ve found myself sneaking handfuls for snacks.
