In a small kitchen, you don’t need a lot of equipment to cook great food. Still, you do need some pots, pans, utensils, and dishes–obviously. In the BGSK book, you’ll find a bare bones list of necessary equipment, but I’ve long wanted to bring you a similar resource on the web.
So we’re going one by one, stocking up our virtual pantries and maybe our real ones too.
This week is a bit of an exception, because we’re talking about the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. This tool may not be as necessary as a pot or a pan. But if you’re into cooking and especially baking, you likely enjoy fooling around in the kitchen. Come summer, there’s no better way to experiment with flavors and concoctions than by making your own ice cream.
This particular ice-cream maker is one of the smaller ones around. You simply freeze the bowl overnight in the fridge and then pour your ice cream base into it. In 15 minutes of churning, you’ve got damn good homemade ice cream.
