Friday Recipe Round-up: Springtime Celebrations!

Every week we’ll round up some of the best recipes, food writing, cooking tips and drinking tricks that every college student should know about. Here’s what’s cooking in virtual kitchens, around the web, this week.

Mother’s day, Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. Springtime events with fun recipes just keep on coming, not to mention all of the fresh spring vegetables that are available!

Impress your mom by not only remembering Mother’s Day but also making a delicious brunch. Try a really simple spring frittata like this one from shoots and roots, these BGSK classic pancakes, or some fancy tea sandwiches.

Just because Cinco de Mayo was on Thursday doesn’t mean that you can’t keep sipping margaritas all weekend long. Take Conan’s tips for cinco de mayo drinking.

Still celebrating OBL news? Why not take a page from Cocktailians and up your cocktail repertoire with a classic Manhattan.

It’s asparagus season! This salad and tarte look fancy but both could easily be made in a college kitchen.

Thanks for including my recipe in your roundup! This is a great blog. I wish I had known about it when I was going to UCSC. Would have been a blessing. My kitchen now has about 6 square feet of walking space so I still know what its like to live with a tiny kitchen! Thanks again and have a great Mothers day with your families.
