Dear LORD butternut squash. I feel like I need a chainsaw to cut that baby in half. Otherwise, I spend 10-15 minutes with a giant knife hacking at it hoping I don’t cut off part of my hand.

I voted for your blog :) And I’m a fan on facebook and I’m a follower on twitter. My whole family loves you two! My aunt has celiac and went mental when she saw the GF calamari!

I’m awful at peeling just about everything, but I recently tried with a butternut squash and found it quite impossible so I’d love some tips. I voted on Shape as well!

I’d love to win one of these! I am not great at folding (as in egg whites, etc in baking), it takes technique and gets tedious!

And I don’t have anything in particular I need help with, for me it’s all trial and error. for example, I learned the mandolin was not for me when I sliced a huge chunk out of my palm cutting sweet potato fries. And then missed around 5 days of work since a nurse can’t work with a big cut in her hand! (no possibility of keeping your mitts clean!)

My husband LOVES onions-I could live my life without them-I would love any ideas on how to prep them without the tears-I swear, I start crying as soon as the knife hits the onion. Also, anything that makes dicing up potatoes faster-I don’t know if it’s my knife, or static or what, but when I cut through them, they end up stuck on the knife.

    I voted on Shape.com!

My wife holds a slice of bread in her mouth while she cuts. Claims it keeps her from tear-ing up. I just stand back as far as possible while cutting and it seems to work for me.
